Paceville
is the undisputed centre of Maltese nightlife,
with a large number of restaurants, bars, night
clubs, and a throng of people all set on enjoying
themselves. It would be ideal to book you hotel
or apartment in St Julian's if you are a party
animal, to avoid driving after drinking.
If you would like to have dinner, you will find
that this area has much to offer ...... Maltese,
Italian, Chinese, Malaysian, Greek, Indian, Turkish
and other cuisine from all over the world. Try
the local dishes, and you will not be disappointed
- the soups are delicious and the fresh fish mouth
watering. The national dish is stewed rabbit,
which is usually served
after spaghetti in a wine sauce. Enough to tempt
even the most difficult of palates!
The Maltese are also well known for their sweet
tooth, and you will find small cafes dotted all
over the place, serving a wide range of scrumptious
cakes and pies, thick hot chocolate and milkshakes,
and other terribly sinful but delicious treats.
Party animals will love this town, with its
large number of pulsing night-clubs. The most
recent addition, Havana, has a number of floors
featuring different music - and entrance is free
of charge! A few meters down the road is Axis,
which is equipped with the latest technology,
entrance costs around Lm2.50, depending on the
day of the week and the time of day. Those who
prefer a more relaxed evening can watch a film
at the large cinema complex, or go bowling at
the bowling alley directly across the road. Alternatively,
they can sit and enjoy a good beer in one of the
pubs in the area, or visit the elegant Dragonara
Casino.
Bugibba is the busiest beach resort in Malta
- it is buzzing both during the day and at night!
Life in this exciting town is centred around Bugibba
square, with its thriving bars, take-away and
restaurants. A brand new cinema complex is found
just up the road, and the area is full of hotels,
and a few good restaurants.
The liveliest night spot in the South of Malta
is Marsascala, where Maltese and tourists alike
enjoy the beautiful promenade and excellent restaurants.
This resort also boasts a modern cinema and throbbing
night-club.
